Q: Do I need to already know how to surf? A: Hawaii Surf Retreat caters to all levels of surfers, from the complete 1st-time beginner, to the more intermediate surfer wanting to work on their timing, turns, and paddling skills, to the advanced surfer who would like to learn how to do different tricks and maneuvers to getting barreled. Q:Can I bring my own Surfboard? A: Although we provide surfboards for you to choose from, if you are more comfortable with your own board from home, please bring it along. Don’t forget that airlines charge extra for surfboards. Q: I have already surfed for quite a few years, would this surf retreat be right for me? A: Yes, our surf retreat is for all levels of surfers. The North Shore provides many different and diverse surf breaks for all levels: from tiny, mushy unintimidating baby waves to slightly more powerful, steeper waves but still soft, to bigger, barreling hollow waves, the North Shore of Oahu really has it all! Depending on your surfing level and goals, our surf instructors will provide you with customized personal surf instruction to help take you to the next level. Q: Aren’t the waves big on the north shore? A: Mostly in the wintertime. Our Retreat is held in February, March and April when the surf is calmer and more small. When there is a big swell, there are still plenty of spots on the North Shore that are ideal for beginners. Q: Do I need to rent my own car? A:You are more then welcome to rent your own car, especially if you want to go off on your on own on the free day, or check out the night life in Haleiwa town or Waikiki. Q: If I come alone, can I share a room? A: Of course! Part of the Hawaii Surf Retreat experience is to make new friends with similar interests and share the pure “stoke” of surfing! Q: What should I pack? A: Hawaii Surf Retreat recommends the following: Sunblock, a few swim suits, running shoes and shorts, sandals, hats, light pjs, toothebrush & toiletries, etc .Hawaii Surf Retreat provides beach and bath towels, and all surfboards and surfing equipment
